Students demonstrate competency in the scientific, methodological and theoretical foundations of professional school psychology.

Indicator Foundational Competence In School Psychology
Sucessfully pass the National School Psychology Exam
Criteria Foundational Competence in School Psychology
Minimum score of 660 and 70% correct on each of the 5 categories of the exam
Finding Foundational Competence in School Psychology
For the students graduating (N=9), 100% of the student taking the PRAXIS Exam passed with a grade of 660 or higher. Of the five test categories: 9/9 passed Category I with a 70 or better; 8/9 passed Cateogry II with a 70 or better; 8/9 passed Category III with a 70 or better; 6/9 passed Category IV with a 70 or better; 9/9 passed Category V with a 70 or better.
Actions for Objective:

Action Functional Competence in School Psychology
Although overall the performance was quite good, program faculty are reviewing materials tested in Categories III and IV to better present that material prior to taking the test.

GOAL: Recruitment Of Qualified Applicants

Objective Impact Personnel Needs
The Program trains school psychology students who graduate and obtain jobs in the school psychology field.

Number of students graduated and obtaining jobs in the school psychology field.
Criteria Impact Personnel Needs
1) Minimum of 5 students who graduate each year, and 2) 100% obtain jobs in the school psychology field.
Finding Impact Personnel Needs
Six students graduated with MA degrees in School Psychology in the 2007-08 academic year and 100% of those searching for jobs in the school psychology field are currently working in that field.

GOAL: Recruitment Of Qualified Applicants

Objective Recruitment Of Qualified Students
The School Psychology Program recruits qualified students with an emphasis on minority recruitment.

Number of applicants and the number accepted recorded at the beginning of every academic year.
Criteria Recruitment of Qualified Applicants
Minimum of 5 students for each cohort with at least one student from an ethnic minority group.
Finding Recruitment of Qualified Applicants
The School Psychology Program currently has six (6) entering students for the Fall 2008 academic year. Currently, there are 5 school psychology students in their second year and 7 students in their third year. Of the new cohort, at least one is a minority student. Program administrators continue to seek minority students for this program.

The criteria were met but the program administrators continue to actively search for more minority candidates.

GOAL: Skill Application

Objective Skill Application
Students in the school psychology program demonstrate application of professional school psychology in a public school setting in the areas of assesssment and consultation.

Indicator Skill Application
(1) Satisfactory ratings from on-site supervisors and University supervisors on the Internship Rating Form. (2) Satisfactory scores from the Program Faculty on their final portfolios.
Criteria Skill Application  
1) On a five-point scale ranging from "Far Below Expectations" to "Far Exceeds Expectations," attain at least a rating of Satisfactory {3} from Field Supervisor. 2) Scores of 80% on student Portfolios rated by Program Faculty.
Finding Skill Application
Of the graduates, all exceeded the criteria established by the site supervisors. In additon, each individual scored a passing grade on his/her portfolio.

The criteria were met, and thus, no additional action is deemed necessary at this time.
