Sam Houston State University has a formal grievance process detailed in Academic Policy Statement 820830 to resolve formal complaints including complaints concerning academic freedom [3]. This policy is in accordance with The Texas State University System, Chapter V, Subsection 4.4 regarding faculty grievances [4]. In the past 10 years, there have been no grievances filed at Sam Houston State University dealing with academic freedom. Policies regarding academic freedom are available through links to the Faculty Handbook [2] on the University’s website.
