  • Coordinator Health Education Internship Program-SHSU. Particpated in graduate Health Education Internship with the Gulf Coast Chapter of the March of Dimes which led to the development of a March of Dimes "Healthy Mothers Healthy-Babies Coalition" in Walker County. Assited Dr. Ruth Cady with the instruction of the HED 493 course as a graduate student and lecturer at SHSU. Assisted Dr. Ruth Cady in the supervision of HED 494 interns in their internship site as a graduate student and lecturer at SHSU. Supervised Health Education interns through the American Red Cross. Attended professional sessions at national conferences on the facilitation of student internship programs. Developed the HED 494 internship manual for undergraduate, graduate students, and intern supervisors. All of these functions relate to the scope of the course content in the HED 493 and HED 494 course.
  • Coordinator-SHSU Alcohol and Drug Abuse Initiative. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate alcohol and drug awareness programs for SHSU students. Programs developed include; Alcohol Summit, National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week, Reducing Irresponsible Drinking and Drugs Week, Six Weeks of Alcohol Awareness Training, Freshman Orientation programs, Survivor Spring Break, and Finals Relief programs. Market alcohol and drug awareness programs for student population. Conduct alcohol and drug research focusing on student knowledge and behaviors regarding use. Network with national, state, and local resources for collaboration of programming and resource use. All of these functions relate to the scope of the course content in the HED 493 and HED 494 course.
