  • One of four or five delegates from Texas to attend the World Choral Symposium in Copenhagen, Denmark, 2008. This is the largest and most significant choral convention in the world.
  • One of three Americans and ten international candidates selected to participate in the conducting master class at the Kodaly Pedagogical Institute of Music in Kecskemet, Hungary. The course was taught by Peter Erdei, director of the institute and professor of choral conducting at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary.
  • Contracted by Lone Spring Arts in Dallas to conduct the choir on their latest CD 'The 12 Carols of Chrismtas.' The CD will be released in the Winter of 2008.

  • In very high demand as a guest conductor/clinician nationally. He is regarded by his peers as one of the finest choral directors in the country.
  • He consistantly has one of the highest student ratings in the School of Music. His teaching is exceptional as reflected in his student evaluations and peer evaluations.
  • Dr. Hightower's work with the Masterworks Choral of Houston has been cited as one of the best community choral groups in the region. He was selected for this important possion because of his extensive knowledge of repertorie and outstanding conducting skills.
