  • Worked in the Pasadena School District for 35 years as a teacher, counselor, and administrator. Had 14 years experience at the high school level and the remainder was at the middle school level. My last 21 were as a middle school administrator including 17 as principal. In 1992 I was honored by TEA as one of the original "Mentor Principals" named across the state charged with leading the re-organization of the Texas middle schools along the guidelines of the Carnegie Report. Spoke in many schools aound south ast Texas regarding the implementation of the "Rotating Block Schedule" and curriculum innovations made possible by that implementation. Was also the co-founder and past president of the Houston Middle School Association and served on many committees for the Texas Middle School Association including the exhibits chirperson for two state conventions. In 2001, was selected as the Middle School "Principal of the year" by Region 4. Worked as a student teacher supervisor for 5yrs.
  • My school was the first secondary school in Pasadena to earn "Exemplary" Status and it earned at least "recognized "all but one year while I was principal and this accountability program was in effect.
  • In August of 2005, was honored by the Pasadena School District school board by having the Bondy Intermediate School Learning Resource Center named The Thomas D. Baccaro L.R.C.

  • I worked for 23 years as an elementary principal. I was in charge of the the day to day operation of a small elementary school. I was responsible for the hiring and evaluation of for all professional staff and paraprofessional staff. Also I was in charge of Curriculm development for the elementary campus. The campus consisted of grades EC through grade 6. The campus had 24 professional and 8 paraprofessional staff with approximately 275 students. I have certification in Mid-management, Superintendent, Special Education, Social Studies, and Health, and Physical Education. I also attended numerous professional workshops training in teacher appraisal and instructional leadership.
  • I continue to teach part-time to stay current in teaching methodolgy.
