GOAL: Maintain Accreditation

Achieving a first-time pass rate of 80% on the National Registration Dietetic (RD) Exam for ADA's reporting period.

Criteria Accreditation Criterion
Report on the national registration (RD) exam will show a first-time passage rate of 80% or higher.
Finding Accreditation Outcome 1
Students who graduated in December of 2007 showed a first-time passage rate of 100% for the 7 out of 9 students who have taken the exam.

Embedded assessments in courses such as FCS 579, 530, 583, and 575; SOC 543; portfolio of activities, and comprehensive exams in the courses will be used to measure student learning as they progress through the Dietetic Internship and Master's Program.

Objective Program Development 1
The program will recruit high quality undergraduate students for the combined MS and DI program.

Indicator Program Development
Program director will target undergraduate programs for students with higher class standings (higher GPA and GRE scores) incentives such as scholarships, assistantships will be used to promote recruitment.
Criteria Program development and management
90% of incoming graduate students will meet the rubric for regular admission as set up by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. One part of the formula is GRE score plus (300 x GPA) = or > 2000.

Data collection is continuing through August 2008 at which time the findings will be made available online to the off-site team.

The program seeks the addition of at least one new faculty person in nutrition/dietetics who also can serve as a coordinator for the supervised practice for both this program and the undergraduate DPD program and whose expertise will allow for expanded courses and greater supervison of the students at rotation sites.

Students' rotation satisfaction survey and end of rotation exams will be used to measure students' perceptions of progress and successful completion.

Over 90% of the students will indicate on survey that through program goals they had acquired practical and critical thinking skills and provide a rating of satisfactory or higher on the survey

100% indicated a satisfactory or higher. 90% rated the programs as having exceeded in providing practical and critical thinking skills. 10% rated the program satisfactory as in providing practical and critical thinking skills.

Students will indicate through an end-of-program survey that they plan to acquire lifelong skills for practice in the dietetics profession.
Criteria Progression criterion
Over 90% of the students will indicate by survey that they particpate in lifelong learning through membership with the ADA and submission of continuing education credits.

100% indicated participation in ADA membership. Only those who passed the exams (7 of 9 - 2008; 8 of 9 - 2007) are eligible for CEU credits; 100% of those who passed the RD exam are accruing CEU units.

Students will be contacted six months after graduation to verify that they have successfully completed the national RD exam and have successfully become employed in the field.

90% of students who completed the program will have passed the National RD Exam and be employed as dietetics professionals.
