GOAL: Employer Satisfaction

Objective Employer Satisfaction With FCS Interns
Employers of FCS interns will view them as worthy of recruitment for entry-level employment in their companies/schools.

Indicator Employer Satisfaction  
The supervisor evaluation form contains a question regarding the intern's potential as an employee that will be extracted and reported as a percentage.
Criteria Employer satisfaction
At least 70% of supervisors of family and consumer sciences interns will indicate that they would hire the intern given the availability of a suitable entry-level position.
Finding Employer Satisfaction
80% of supervisors of interns indicated they would hire the intern given the availability of an appropriate position.
Indicator Employer Satisfaction With FCS Interns  
The supervisor evaluation form for family and consumer sciences interns includes a supervisor rating of the intern that will be extracted and averaged.
Criteria Employer Satisfaction With FCS Interns
At least 80% of supervisors of family and consumer sciences interns would give the intern a rating of 3.5 or higher on a 5.0 scale.
Finding Employer Satisfaction With FCS Interns
Overall, 50% of the intern supervisors gave the intern a rating of 3.5/5.0. The average score given to the graduating seniors by intern supervisors was 3.99/5.0. However, students in the certification program were rated by a different system than the non-certification majors; an average score of 3.0/5.0 is considered an appropriate rating for certification graduates, and the FCS graduates averaged a score of 3.16/5.0. The average score for non-certification students was 4.48/5.0.

Action Employer Satisfaction With FCS Interns
Continue to provide a rigorous, current program that prepares students for a high-quality internship experience. Coordinate the FCS rating system more closely with the College of Education system used to rate certification students.

GOAL: Student Knowledge Of Content Area

Objective Knowledge And Skills
Students graduating from the family and consumer sciences program will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level positions in the field.

Indicator Knowledge And Skills  
The Exit Survey for family and consumer sciences majors includes a section that tests retention of course material; it is graded on a pass/fail basis.
Criteria Knowledge and Skills
At least 80% of students who complete the family and consumer sciences program''s Exit Survey will score a grade of Pass or High Pass.
Finding Knowledge and Skills
100% graduating seniors scored a pass or high pass on the department''s Exit Survey.
Actions for Objective:

Continue to provide students with learning opportunities that lead to high retention of course materials.

The faculty and staff will provide a department viewed by the students as satisfactory in regard to the building facilities.

91% of the graduating seniors indicated their satisfaction with the buiding and facilities at 3.0/4.0 or higher. The average score of 3.1/4.0 was indicated by the graduating seniors.

Finding Faculty
100% of the graduating seniors indicated their level of satisfaction with faculty was 3.0/4.0 or above. The average score of all seniors was 3.73/4.0.
