GOAL: Maintain Accreditation

Objective Students Prepared To Pass RD Exam
Achieving a first-time pass rate of 80% on the National Registration Dietetic (RD) Exam for ADA's reporting period.

Report on the national registration (RD) exam will show a first-time passage rate of 80% or higher.

CADE''s report has indicated a 85.7% first-time pass rate for the evaluation period on national exam
Indicator Mock RD Exam
Passage rate on the Mock RD Exam.
Criteria Mock RD Exam
90% of students will exit the program with a passing grade of 80% or higher on the Mock RD Exam.
Finding Mock RD Exam
100% of students enrolled for the reporting period passed the Mock RD Exam with a score of 80% or greater. Mean score obtained: 87%

Action Accreditation action
The primary goal for the program''s accreditation process is a minimum 80% passage rate for first-time test takers. Accreditation goals have exceeded expectations. Therefore, interim report for continued accreditation was approved by CADE of the ADA. Continue preparation strategies for passing national exam.
Action Mock RD Exam
The program director will continue to modify the exam to meet the changing trends and ADA requirements for overall entry-level dietetics practice competencies.

Students must progress through the MS/DI program in a satisfactory manner.

Indicator Embedded Assessments
Embedded assessments in courses such as FCS 579, 530, 583, and 575; SOC 543 will be used to measure student learning as they progress through the Dietetic Internship and Master's Program.
Criteria Embedded Assessments
90% of students will show successful completion of 80% or more of the competencies for an entry-level dietitian.

The program will recruit high quality undergraduate students for the combined MS and DI program.

Indicator Program Development
Program director will target undergraduate programs for students with higher class standings (higher GPA and GRE scores) incentives such as scholarships, assistantships will be used to promote recruitment.
Criteria Program development and management
90% of incoming graduate students will meet the rubric for regular admission as set up by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Finding Recruitment of students
70% of students recruited met the standard for regular admission as defined by the CHSS guidelines.

GOAL: Program Development And Management

Add a full-time faculty member with expertise in dietetics to expand course offerings and supervision of sites.

Approval for and successful negotiation of a contract with a new faculty person who also can serve as a coordinator for the supervised practice for both this program and the undergraduate DPD program.

Approval granted for new faculty person in the area of nutrition/dietetics who also could serve as a coordinator for the supervised practice both for this program and the undergraduate DPD program.
Finding Program development
Faculty hiring was indicated in the 2007 strategic plan but was not approved due to budget constraints.

Request for coordinator will be re-submitted through the Chair of the department to Dean. Success in this area will be more likely when budget constraints are eased.

Students' rotation satisfaction survey and end of rotation exams will be used to measure students' perceptions of progress and successful completion.
Criteria Progression criterion 1
Over 90% of the students will indicate on survey that through program goals they had acquired practical and critical thinking skills and provide a rating of satisfactory or higher on the survey

100% of the students have indicated a more than satisfactory rating for program activities upon exit of the program
Criteria Progression criterion 2
90% of the students will successfully pass the end of rotation/semester exams with a grade of C or better. Over 90% will complete the 17 month program and seek employment in the area of dietetics.

Students will indicate through an end-of-program survey that they participate in continuing education in the dietetics profession.

Over 90% of the students will indicate by survey that they particpate in lifelong learning through membership with the ADA and submission of continuing education credits.

Results indicate 100% of the students successfully completed the program objectives and 94.1% are members of the ADA; participate in continuing education credits for life long learning

90% of students who completed the program will have passed the National RD Exam and be employed as dietetics professionals.

94.1% of students who graduated from the program are employed as dietetics professionals.
