Criteria Mathematics Education Leader
The student will have completed at seast two of the following: 1. conducted a workshop, 2. participated in a conference, 3. served on a local, state, or national committee, 4. served as a department chair, 5. served as a mathematics coordinator.

We do not currently have data available to assess this objective.
Actions for Objective:

Action Mathematics Education Leader
We are currently establishing a database of our graduates based on a survey which will provide the data necessary to complete the analysis of this criteria.

GOAL: Overall Goal

Objective Objective Four
The student will be able to communicate mathematical understanding to others.
Associated Goals: Overall Goal

Indicator Oral Exam
The student will pass a comprehensive oral exam over Math 586, 587, 588, and 589.
Criteria Oral Exam
At least 90% of the students will pass a comprehensive oral exam over each of Math 586, 587, 588, and 589.
Finding Oral Exam
All students successfully passed all parts of the oral exam.
Actions for Objective:

Action Oral Exam
Since all students successfully completed their oral examination, no further action is necessary.

The student will increase their ability to analyze and solve mathematical problems.

Indicator Complete Core Courses
The student will complete Math 586,587,588,589 with a B or better.
Criteria Complete core coures
At least 90% of the students will complete each of Math 586, 587, 588, and 589 with a grade of B or better.
Finding Complete Core Courses
All students except one completed the core courses with a B or better.
Actions for Objective:

Since all but one student met this criteria, no further action will be taken.

The student will continue their professional development in mathemtics education.
Criteria Professional Development
The student will have completed 2 of the following: 1. pursue further graduate study, 2. attend a mathematics conference, 3. participate in a workshop, 4. be a member of a professional mathematics organization.
Finding Professional Development
We do not have an assessment for this criteria.

Action Professional Development
We are currently developing a survey to gather data for a database which will provide the data necessary to assess this criteria.

The student will acquire skills necessary for self-directed learning.

Indicator Research Paper
The student will successfully complete a research paper.
Criteria Research Paper
At least 90% of the students will successfully complete a research paper.
Finding Research Paper
All students successfully completed a research paper.

Action Research Paper
Since all students met this criteria, no further action is necessary. We have created a special course number for the research paper, MTH 590.

Indicator Technology Proficiency
Complete Math 587 and 589 with a grade of B or better.
Criteria Technology Proficiency
At least 90% of the students will complete each of Math 587 and 589 with a grade of B or better.
Finding Technology Proficiency
All students but one completed Math 587 and Math 589 with a grade of B or better.
Actions for Objective:

Action Technology Proficiency
Since only one student did not meet this criteria, no further action will be taken.
