The BS in Kinesiology-all-levels Teacher Certification Program-The Physical Education Teacher Education Program was awarded “National Recognition” status by the National Association of Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), formerly the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
College of Humanities and Social Sciences
The Doctoral Program degree in Clinical Psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
The Specialists degree in School Psychology is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists to ensure high quality school psychology training and services. College of Education
The College of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). As one of only thirteen universities in Texas with accreditation from NCATE, the educator preparation programs meet the accreditation standards necessary to ensure high quality graduates.
The Master of Library Science (MLS) program has recently been nationally recognized by the National Council of Accreditation for Teacher Education. The review took place in October 2008, and the program was unconditionally accredited on February 1, 2009 by the American Library Association in association with the National Council of Accreditation for Teach Education.
The Masters Program in Community Mental Health Counseling is accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
