The SBDC will assist clients during this measurement period in obtaining up to 5 million dollars of financing for the year.

The SBA goal for this milestone was $8,800,000 million dollars. The Center achieved a total $5,426,260.
Criteria Client Capital Formation
The criteria for this milestone and goal are the impact surveys that the client completes after the SBDC assists them with this specific goal. This goal is also further documented by the client when the Crisman is completed and returned to the University of Houston.
Finding Client Capital
The capital goal of $8,800,000 was not met this year. In the 16 years in operation no more than $6 million in capital has ever been achieved. Consequently, it is felt that this goal is not realistic; however, the actions will be expained and hopefully will assist in overall accomplishments.

As mentioned in the finding having to do with capital formation it is felt that this goal of $8,800,000 is completely unrealistic. The Center has never exceeded $6 million during the past 16 years of operation. However, many new procedures are going to be established to try and reach this goal for FY 2009/2010. There is now extensive marketing throughout the community, especially with banks, to help clients with a variety of loans. Furthermore, extensive visits to all banks within our 6 county service area will be conducted by our counselors on a monthly basis. Additionally advertising is being established within newspapers, radio stations, chambers and economic development associations within our county service area. We are also promoting all of the SBA programs much more extensively than ever before.

The SBA goal was 60 for the year the Center accomplished 62 thus surpassing the goal by 2 jobs.

The criteria for this milestone and goal are the impact surveys that the client completes after the SBDC assists them with this specific goal. This goal is also further documented by the client when the Crisman is completed and returned to the University of Houston.

The Center achieved 70 contact clients exceeding the goal by one.
Criteria Documentation of Clients with Over 5 Hours
This criteria is measured monthly and is available through the University of Houston MIS System. The Director weekly monitors the success of this by each Consultant.

The Goal was 62 for the year and we achieved 70. The end of the year goal was exceeded. It is felt that it is a realistic goal based on the 16 years of past performance.
