GOAL: Enhanced Technology

Objective Installation Of Surveillance Cameras
Residence Life will continue the installation of surveillance cameras in residence halls
Associated Goals: Enhanced Technology

Indicator Reported vandalism
The amount of vandalism that occurs in the residence halls will be measured based on the monetary amount reported by residence hall staff each fiscal year.
Criteria Reduction in vandalism rates
Vandalism rates will be close to or mirror rate reported in 2006-07.
Finding Expected constant or reduced vandalism rate
The amount of money billed for vandalism for the academic year 2007-08 was only $3,440.00, which is a significant decrease from last year''s total of $10,351.88
Actions for Objective:

Action Installation of surveillance cameras
King Hall cameras were installed for Fall 2007 - completed in October of 2007. The reported costs of vandalism this year was $3,440.00, which is a significant decrease from last year''s total of $10,351.88

GOAL: Enhanced Technology

Objective Web-based Services
Web pages will be utilized by student residents to electronically handle all assignment-based business with the department, such as applications, renewal, roommate matching and other services.
Associated Goals: Enhanced Technology

Indicator Quality of Life Survey (regarding intentional use of web pages)
Intentional use of the web pages for performing assignment-based business will be measured by the frequency of students choosing to perform their business tasks over the web.
Criteria Implementation of additional web-based housing services
At least 60% of student surveys will show an interest in handling more housing business over the web pages.
Finding Expected increase in using web pages for business
Survey results show that 86.21% of survey respondents are using our current web-based services and 76.6% would like an increase in what services we are able to provide on line.
Actions for Objective:

Action Increase web-based housing services
Due to survey results, we will work on adding more services on-line. We are currently working on a roommate matching program to be implemented for 2008-09, and will request on-line hall and room transfer requests for the future.

GOAL: Enhanced Technology

Objective Web-based maintenance reports
A program will be created in order for students to be able to report maintenance via the web pages.

Implementation of web-based reprting system for residence hall students.
Criteria Implementation of web-based maintenance reports
An off-site contractor (schooldude.com)will implement a web-based maintenance reporting system for residence hall students.
Finding Expected success of web-based maintenance reportin
Installation of program by Schooldude.com was completed in March. Testing will begin with the summer semesters, with full implementation to occur with the Fall 2008 semester, therefore unable to use the Quality of Life assessment for this year.
Actions for Objective:

Action Pursuing web-based maintenance program
We have contracted with Schooldude.com to provide web-based services so that students can directly report maintenance concerns on-line. We are going live during Summer Session I and will evaluate at the end of next year.

GOAL: Improvement in Program Development

Objective Residence Hall Programming
Student residents are provided with educational and social programming opportunities to facilitate personal growth and development.
Associated Goals: Improvement in Program Development

Indicator Quality Of Life Survey (regarding General Hall Programming)
Specific questions within our Quality of Life survey will measure the success of and participation in general hall programming in the areas of Wellness, Diversity, Life Skills, Social Issues and the like.
Criteria Demonstrated student satisfaction with residence hall programming
At least 60% of student surveys will show a positive reaction to and attendance at residence hall programs provided by hall staff.
Finding Expected satisfaction with general hall programs
Only 45.17 % of the survey respondents said they had attended a hall program. Only 23.64 % responded that the programs increased awareness of social issues and solutions.
Actions for Objective:

Action Improvement in Hall Programming
As the results implied that less than 60% of our respondents attended and responded favorably to programs provided in the residence halls, we will be reviewing our programming requirements and looking for ways to improve.

GOAL: Improvement in Program Development

Objective Residence Life Cinema
Create more opportunities for student-targeted programming through media with Residence Life Cinema.
Associated Goals: Improvement in Program Development

Indicator Quality Of Life Survey (regarding Residence Life Cinema)
Popularity and usage of Residence Life Cinema will be measured as part of the Quality of Life survey.
Criteria Demonstrated student satisfaction with Residence Life Cinema
At least 60% of student surveys will show satisfaction regarding the use and popularity of Residence Life Cinema.
Finding Expected success of Residence Life Cinema
Survey results show that 68.26% of the respondents are regularly viewing the films on Residence Life Cinema.
Actions for Objective:

Action Residence Life Cinema
Will renew contract with company and will advertise more aggressively. Will also push use of discussion guides and movies for Sam 136.
