Finding | admission of doctoral students From 52 applicants, 21 new doctoral students were admitted, comprising Cohorts 16-17 (two withdrew for personal reasons after the first semester,before they were evaluated). This group included 6 men and 13 women; ethnic representation included 15 white, 0 Hispanic, 2 African American, and 1 Asian students. Also included in this group were five higher education leadership students. The average GRE score for this group was 1052. |

Finding | Student presentations at Graduate Research Exchang 27 students participated in the Graduate Research Exchange, hosted by the Doctoral program in Educational Leadership (April 2007). Fifteen of the students were EDL students. |
Finding | Student presentations at SERA Ten doctoral students made research presentations at the Southwest Educational Research Association in San Antonio, TX (Feb, 2006). |
Finding | international presentations Ten doctoral students traveled to Mexico City and Puebla to participate in an international internship in educational leadership (summer 2006). All 10 students presented research projects at Universidad Iberoamericana and earned a grade of A for the course. |

Finding | Student progress towards graduation No students were removed for academic performance. One student resigned for personal reasons. The remaining students all made satisfactory progress in their coursework. Fifteen students graduated with their Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership in the 2006-07 academic year. |
Action | Student progress towards graduation Student feedback will be solicited regarding what the program can do to facilitate their progress towards graduation. EDL 710 (workshop courses) will be used to solicit feedback and to inform students in detail of the dissertation process and expectations. |
