Indicator | Comprehensive Exams Students demonstrate through a written comprehensive examination their ability to integrate the areas of general psychology. |
Criteria | Pass Comprehensive Examination 100% of students must pass comprehensive examination prior to graduation. |
Finding | Comprehensive Examination The General Program is our smallest program. Three students took the exam during the 2006-2007 year. Only 33% passed the exam. |
Action | Comprehensive Exams Faculty and student discussions led to modification of student preparation by providing an additional required course, Graduate Seminar in General Psychology which covers the breath of academic psychology: the areas of learning, social/developmemntal/personality, statistics, and physiological psychology. |

Criteria | Research Competency Of those students completing the program, they will either complete a thesis or enroll in PSY 588, Experimental Design. |
Finding | Research Comptency Only one student completed the General Program during the 2006-2007 school year, and that student completed a thesis. |
Action | Research Competency Encourage more students to produce theses and require all students to take PSY 588, Experimental Design. |
