Action | Curriculum Development The Psychology program curriculum committee will make recommendations for remediation to the program faculty. The Psychology program as a whole then will act on those recommendations. |
Objective | Scholarship Portfolios | |
Each Psychology & Philosophy faculty member completes a portfolio documenting their scholarship on an annual basis. The primary objective is that each faculty demonstrate that he or she has contributed to his or her field by having published and/or having given a presentation, over the past year, of new finding that support his or her sub-area in psychology. Criteria | Scholarship Evaluation Score A score of 3 or more on the 5 point scale on the Scholarly & Artistic Endeavors Rubric (attached under "indicator") is considered to be minimally satisfactory. |
Finding | Percent of Satisfactory Faculty 74% of department faculty scored a 3 or better on the rubric for scholarship. |
Action | Faculty Improvement Plans In consultation with the faculty member, the department chair makes specific recommendations for individual improvement in the area of scholarship. |

Indicator | IDEA Ratings A summary IDEA score at or above the institution mean is considered to be satisfactory. Consistent with IDEA recommendations, converted averages on IDEA evaluations that are in the middle 40% and above are considered to be "effective teaching." |
Criteria | IDEA Summary Score For each faculty member, an adjusted Summary Evaluation score that meets or exceeds the institution average will be considered satisfactory. |
Finding | Percent at or above averages for IDEA 70% faculty scored at or above the institution summary scores of 4.1 for IDEA student teaching evaluations. |
Action | Faculty Teaching Improvement Plan In consultation with the faculty member, the department chair makes specific recommendations for individual improvement in the area of teaching. |

Each Psychology & Philosophy faculty member completes a portfolio documenting their teaching activities on annual basis. The objective is to show that the faculty member continually exceeds the stated criteria presented with respect to the IDEA Evaluations or is showing consistent progress toward meeting those goals. Action | Teaching Portfolio Review The Department Chair will continue to meet with faculty and recommend suggestions for improvement. Discussions on including peer reviews will also take place. |
